A l'entrada a l'estadi, una noia em pregunta: "Are you a student?".

My second weekend in New Haven was approaching and I decided to go to a football game of Yale Bulldogs, the university team. And I proved I was a novice. The day before I bought the ticket on the Internet. The next day a went downtown to take the bus. The bus tickets (round trip) are not actual tickets but small coins or chips like those used in old amusement parks. To the present moment, the women who sold them to me is the person I have had more trouble understanding by far. However, I managed to get the essential: corner, 5-10 minutes, bus F6. The driver kindly told me when to get off. I follow scattered groups and people that head in the same direction. At the entrance of the stadium, a girl ask me: "Are you a student?". My answer is doubtful, not (only) because of the language but because I am really not registered as I student at Yale but as the visitor of a professor. However, the girl at the entrance seems satisfied with my word and lets me in. You can imagine that my ticket was useless. The game was great, very authentic, all American and exciting till the end ("down to the wire"). There was even a speaker that announced the plays (not very amusing though) and that at a certain moment explained where the free buses for Yale students would depart from to get back to New Haven. So, as you can imagine again, I still have a CTTransit Bus coin left. By the way,Yale (31) beat Columbia (28) and the event also provided the occasion to eat my first Hot Dog, good enough.
You can see some pictures and videos of the game in the Videos section. Like a friend of mine said the day I uploaded them, there are more videos featuring the cheerleaders than the game itself. It needs to be said that for me is more of a novelty the presence of cheerleaders at a university game than going to a university game. Moreover, as I told my friend, the longest video is devoted to the music band, that has a repertoire including the soundtrack of Tetris, one of Lady Gaga's hits, Bad Romance, the soundtrack of The Lord of the Rings: "The bridge of Khazad Dum" and "American Idiot" by Greenday. You can listen to some of these songs in the video of the half-time show or the videos of the cheerleaders.
